George W. Martin (1926 - ) is an author and researcher. Born in New York City, he graduated from Harvard College and briefly practiced journalism before receiving a law degree. He practiced law for a few years before turning to writing full-time. He has published books on opera, including three on Giuseppe Verdi; biographies of C.C. Burlingham, Frances Perkins, and the Damrosch family; a history of the Bar of the City of New York; and a collection of fables. He lives in Kennett Squa...
